Innovations in Major Domestic Appliances - Back to the Future
Our client wanted to re-write the integration of major domestic appliances in the home; starting from a blank sheet and developing a product line-up for 2015+.
The project challenges were to get consumers to think creatively, unconventionally and from a new perspective; beyond the confines of current product design.
An initial phase of in-home ethnographic interviews to help identify unmet needs was combined with extended qualitative focus groups; using industrial design students from St Martins School of Design to visualise consumers ideas.
The research provided a number of new revolutionary ideas for our client to build on and develop.
