Children’s research is a highly specialised area
requiring a specialist set of techniques and
methodologies. At Holden Pearmain we understand that
children are not just ‘small adults’ and that what works
for mum and dad in a research environment will not
necessarily work for their children. It is for this
reason, that we adopt a child-centred approach to every
study that we conduct. This means that when designing
sample parameters we are aware that the developmental
stage of a child is sometimes more relevant than their
chronological age and that boys and girls really do
think and act differently at certain stages in their
lives.
We use a range of methodologies; buddy depths, talk
circles, peer research sessions, research clubs and
techniques; scrap books, video diaries,
photo-montage, word games, and collage work to help
us understand the child’s unique view of the world.
Our children’s researchers are experts in knowing which
questions to ask and how best to ask them. |
